1 INDICATIONS CLORAZEPATE (clorazepate dipotassium) is indicated for:  the short-term symptomatic relief of excessive anxiety and tension in psychoneurotic patients including those with functional somatic complaints.  the adjunctive management of acute alcohol withdrawal. Anxiety or tension associated with the stress of everyday life usually does not require treatment with an anxiolytic. 1.1 Pediatrics Pediatrics (<18 years of age): No data are available to Health Canada; therefore, Health Canada has not authorized an indication for pediatric use. 1.2 Geriatrics Geriatrics (> 65 years of age): Evidence from clinical studies and experience suggests that use in the geriatric population is associated with differences in safety or effectiveness. See 4.2 Recommended Dose and Dosage Adjustment; 7.1.4 Geriatrics. Long-term use of CLORAZEPATE should be avoided in elderly patients. Enhanced monitoring is recommended.
