1 INDICATIONS AA-DILTIAZ (diltiazem hydrochloride) is indicated for: • Angina ▪ AA-DILTIAZ (diltiazem hydrochloride) tablets may be used in the management of angina resulting from coronary artery spasm. ▪ AA-DILTIAZ tablets are indicated for the management of chronic stable angina (effort- associated angina) without evidence of vasospasm in patients who remain symptomatic despite adequate doses of beta-blockers and/or organic nitrates or who cannot tolerate those agents. AA-DILTIAZ tablets may be tried in combination with beta-blockers in chronic stable angina in patients with normal ventricular function. When such concomitant therapy is introduced, patients must be monitored closely (see 7 WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS, Cardiovascular). ▪ AA-DILTIAZ tablets may be useful in unstable angina when spasm of the coronary vessels is definitely a contributing factor (e.g., ST segment elevation). Note: Requests for cancer drugs are considered under the Case-by-Case Review Program (CBCRP) which is administered by Ontario Health (Cancer Care Ontario) on behalf of the Ministry of Health. The CBCRP considers funding requests for drugs (both oral therapies and injectable drugs) for the treatment of cancer in patients who have a rare clinical circumstance that is immediately life-threatening (death is likely within a matter of months) and who require treatment with an unfunded drug, because there is no other satisfactory and funded treatment.
