DIFLUCAN is also effective for the treatment of serious systemic candidal infections, including urinary tract infection, peritonitis, and pneumonia. 2. Cryptococcal meningitis. 3. Specimens for fungal culture and other relevant laboratory studies (serology, histopathology) should be obtained prior to therapy to isolate and identify causative organisms. Therapy may be instituted before the results of the cultures and other laboratory studies are known; however, once these results become available, anti-infective therapy should be adjusted accordingly. Prophylaxis DIFLUCAN is also indicated to decrease the incidence of candidiasis in patients undergoing bone marrow transplantation who receive cytotoxic chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy. 1.1 Pediatrics (<18 years of age) Based on the data submitted and reviewed by Health Canada, the safety and efficacy of DIFLUCAN in pediatric patients ha… https://pdf.hres.ca/dpd_pm/00085459.PDF PM date: 2026-07-21 Source product: DIFLUCAN; DIN 02024152; fetched 2026-09-10 Product monograph posted by Health Canada; excerpt for lookup only.
