1 INDICATIONS pms-ANAGRELIDE (anagrelide hydrochloride capsules) is indicated for: • Treatment of patients with thrombocythemia secondary to myeloproliferative neoplasms to reduce the elevated platelet count and the risk of thrombosis and to ameliorate associated symptoms, including thrombo-hemorrhagic events. pms-ANAGRELIDE is intended for chronic usage and has not been evaluated for treatment of the acute life-threatening complications of thrombocytosis. 1.1 Pediatrics The safety and efficacy of anagrelide hydrochloride in patients under 16 years of age have not been established. Health Canada has not authorized an indication for pediatric use. 1.2 Geriatrics The safety and effectiveness of anagrelide hydrochloride have not been evaluated in studies specific to the elderly.
