What the Health Canada label says it is for
INDICATIONS AND CLINICAL USE ALVESCO (ciclesonide) is indicated for:  prophylactic management of steroid-responsive bronchial asthma in adults, adolescents and children 6 years of age and older. Pediatrics: At present, there is limited data regarding the use of ALVESCO in patients <6 years of age and therefore ALVESCO is not recommended for patients younger than 6 years. Geriatrics (>65 years of age): Based on the pharmacokinetic characteristics obtained in patients older than 65 years of age, dose adjustment is not necessary in elderly patients. https://pdf.hres.ca/dpd_pm/00060608.PDF PM date: March 30, 2021 Source product: ALVESCO; DIN 02285606; fetched 2026-09-10 Product monograph posted by Health Canada; excerpt for lookup only.
