What the Health Canada label says it is for
INDICATIONS AND CLINICAL USE Adults NIMOTOP (Nimodipine Tablets) may be useful as an adjunct to improve the neurologic outcome following subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) from ruptured intracranial aneurysm. Geriatrics (> 65 years of age) Clinical studies of nimodipine did not include sufficient numbers of subjects aged 65 and over to determine whether they respond differently from younger subjects. Other reported clinical experience has not identified differences in responses between elderly and younger patients. In general, dosing for elderly patients should be cautious, reflecting the greater frequency of decreased hepatic, renal, or cardiac function, and of concomitant disease or other drug therapy. Pediatrics (< 18 years of age) The safety and effectiveness of nimodipine in children have not been established. https://pdf.hres.ca/dpd_pm/00081429.PDF PM date: AUG 18, 2025 Source product: NIMOTOP; DIN 02325926; fetched 2026-09-10 Product monograph posted by Health Canada; excerpt for lookup only.
