INDICATIONS AND CLINICAL USE JENTADUETO (linagliptin/metformin hydrochloride tablets) is indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise, to improve glycemic control in adult patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus who are:  inadequately controlled on metformin, or  already controlled with the free combination of linagliptin and metformin. JENTADUETO (linagliptin/metformin hydrochloride tablets) is indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise, to improve glycemic control in adult patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus:  in combination with a sulfonylurea, when dual therapy with metformin and a sulfonylurea do not provide adequate glycemic control, or  in combination with basal insulin, when dual therapy with metformin and basal insulin do not provide adequate glycemic control.
