Reason for Use code 457 For the seasonal treatment of short ragweed pollen induced allergic rhinitis in patients that have not adequately responded to, or tolerated, conventional pharmacotherapy. Notes: Treatment with short ragweed pollen allergen extract must be initiated by physicians with adequate training and experience in the treatment of respiratory allergic diseases. Treatment should be initiated at least twelve (12) weeks before the onset of ragweed pollen season and should only be continued until the end of the season. Coverage limit: LU Authorization Period: 1 year

INDICATIONS AND CLINICAL USE RAGWITEK® (Standardized Allergen Extract, Short Ragweed (Ambrosia artemisiifolia) Sublingual Tablet) is indicated for reducing the signs and symptoms of moderate to severe seasonal short ragweed pollen induced allergic rhinitis, with or without conjunctivitis, in adults and children 5 years of age or older confirmed by clinically relevant symptoms for at least one pollen season (age 6 or younger) or two pollen seasons (age 7 or older) and a positive skin prick test and/or a positive titre to Ambrosia artemisiifolia specific IgE, and who have responded inadequately, or are intolerant to conventional pharmacotherapy. Treatment with RAGWITEK® should only be prescribed and initiated by physicians with adequate training and experience in the treatment of respiratory allergic diseases. Geriatrics: The efficacy of RAGWITEK® has not been studied in patients over 50 years of age. There is no long term safety data for patients >50 years old (see WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS / Geriatrics).
