What the Health Canada label says it is for
1 INDICATIONS FLOVENT (fluticasone propionate) is indicated for:  the prophylactic management of steroid-responsive bronchial asthma in adults and children (12 months of age or older). For children, this includes patients not controlled on currently available prophylactic medication. FLOVENT is not indicated for the relief of acute bronchospasm (see 7 WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS, general). 1.1 Pediatrics Pediatrics (12 months of age and older): FLOVENT DISKUS is indicated for any child 4 years of age and older, and FLOVENT HFA inhalation aerosol is indicated for children 12 months of age and above who require prophylactic medication, including patients not controlled on currently available prophylactic medication. At present there are insufficient clinical data to recommend the use of FLOVENT DISKUS in children younger than 4 years and the use of FLOVENT HFA inhalation aerosol in children younger than 12 months. 1.2 Geriatrics There is no need to adjust the dose in elderly patients. https://pdf.hres.ca/dpd_pm/00060119.PDF PM date: March 1, 2021 Source product: FLOVENT DISKUS; DIN 02237246; fetched 2026-09-10 Product monograph posted by Health Canada; excerpt for lookup only.
