What the Health Canada label says it is for
1 INDICATIONS SUBLOCADE (buprenorphine solution (extended-release) for injection) is indicated for the management of moderate to severe opioid use disorder in adult patients. SUBLOCADE should be used as part of a complete treatment plan that includes counselling and psychosocial support. SUBLOCADE must only be administered subcutaneously by a healthcare professional (see 4 DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION). 1.1 Pediatrics Pediatrics (˂18 years of age): No data are available in patients under 18 years of age. SUBLOCADE is not indicated in pediatric patients. 1.2 Geriatrics Geriatrics (≥ 65 years of age): There were no patients ≥ 65 years of age in the controlled clinical trial of SUBLOCADE. In general, drug use for an elderly patient should be cautious, reflecting the greater frequency of decreased hepatic, renal, respiratory and/or cardiac function, concomitant disease or other drug therapies.
