What the Health Canada label says it is for
1 INDICATIONS CELSENTRI (maraviroc), in combination with other antiretroviral agents, is indicated for adult patients infected with CCR5-tropic HIV-1. The following points should be considered when initiating therapy with CELSENTRI: • CCR5 tropism should be confirmed using a highly sensitive tropism assay prior to initiation of CELSENTRI therapy. Outgrowth of pre-existing low-level CXCR4- or dual/mixed-tropic HIV-1 not detected by tropism testing at screening has been associated with virologic failure on CELSENTRI (see 15 MICROBIOLOGY). • CELSENTRI is not recommended in patients infected with dual/mixed- or CXCR4-tropic HIV-1; efficacy in this patient population was not demonstrated in a Phase 2 Study. 1.1 Pediatrics Pediatrics (<18 years of age): The safety and efficacy of CELSENTRI have not been established in pediatric patients. 1.2 Geriatrics Geriatrics (>65 years of age): In general, caution should be exercised when administering CELSENTRI in elderly patients (see 7 WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS, 7.1 Special Population, 7.1.4 Geriatrics). https://pdf.hres.ca/dpd_pm/00071613.PDF PM date: SEP 19, 2007 Source product: CELSENTRI; DIN 02299844; fetched 2026-09-10 Product monograph posted by Health Canada; excerpt for lookup only.
