INDICATIONS AND CLINICAL USE TARO-AMCINONIDE (amcinonide) is a high potency topical corticosteroid indicated for the relief of inflammatory and pruritic manifestations of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses for a maximum duration of 5 days on the face, axillae, scrotum and scalp and a maximum of 3 weeks on the body. Geriatrics (> 65 years of age): Safety and effectiveness of amcinonide in geriatric patients over 65 years of age have not been established (see WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS, Special Populations, Geriatrics (> 65 years of age)). Note: Requests for cancer drugs are considered under the Case-by-Case Review Program (CBCRP) which is administered by Ontario Health (Cancer Care Ontario) on behalf of the Ministry of Health. The CBCRP considers funding requests for drugs (both oral therapies and injectable drugs) for the treatment of cancer in patients who have a rare clinical circumstance that is immediately life-threatening (death is likely within a matter of months) and who require treatment with an unfunded drug, because there is no other satisfactory and funded treatment.
