INDICATIONS AND CLINICAL USE Asthma: OXEZE TURBUHALER (formoterol fumarate dihydrate) is indicated for the treatment of asthma only as add-on therapy to an inhaled corticosteroid, a long-term asthma control medication, in patients 6 years of age and older with reversible obstructive airways disease, including patients with symptoms of nocturnal asthma. Corticosteroids should not be stopped because formoterol is prescribed. Formoterol is a long-acting beta2 agonist (LABA) and should not be used as a rescue medication. To relieve acute asthmatic symptoms a short-action inhaled bronchodilator should be used. LABA, such as formoterol, the active ingredient in OXEZE, may increase the risk of asthma- related death (see WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS).
