What the Health Canada label says it is for
1 INDICATIONS VASOTEC® (enalapril) is indicated for:  essential or renovascular hypertension  treatment of symptomatic congestive heart failure Hypertension VASOTEC® is indicated in the treatment of essential or renovascular hypertension. It is usually administered in association with other drugs, particularly thiazide diuretics. In using VASOTEC® consideration should be given to the risk of angioedema (see 7 WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS). Congestive Heart Failure VASOTEC® is indicated in the treatment of symptomatic congestive heart failure usually in combination with diuretics and/or digitalis. In these patients, VASOTEC® improves symptoms, increases survival, and decreases the frequency of hospitali zation (see 14 CLINICAL TRIALS for details and limitations of survival trials). Treatment with VASOTEC® should be initiated under close medical supervision. In clinically stable asymptomatic patients with left ventricul ar dysfunction (ejection fraction ≤35%), VASOTEC® decreases the rate of development of overt heart failure and decreases the incidence of hospitalization for heart failure (see 14 CLINICAL TRIALS for details and limitations of survival trials). 1.1 Pediatrics… https://pdf.hres.ca/dpd_pm/00061923.PDF PM date: not printed or not captured Source product: VASOTEC; DIN 00670901; fetched 2026-09-10 Product monograph posted by Health Canada; excerpt for lookup only.
