What the Health Canada label says it is for
1 INDICATIONS TRIAZOLAM (Triazolam Tablets USP) is indicated for  the symptomatic relief of transient and short-term insomnia in patients who have difficulty falling asleep. Triazolam is not recommended for early morning awakenings. The use of hypnotics should be restricted for insomnia where disturbed sleep results in impaired daytime functioning. 1.1 Pediatrics Pediatrics (<18 years): Based on the data submitted and reviewed by Health Canada, the safety and efficacy of TRIAZOLAM in pediatric patients has not been established; therefore, Health Canada has not authorized an indication for pediatric use. See 7 WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS. 1.2 Geriatrics Long-term use of TRIAZOLAM should be avoided in elderly patients. Enhanced monitoring is recommended.
