1 INDICATIONS VASOTEC® (enalapril) is indicated for:  essential or renovascular hypertension  treatment of symptomatic congestive heart failure Hypertension VASOTEC® is indicated in the treatment of essential or renovascular hypertension. It is usually administered in association with other drugs, particularly thiazide diuretics. In using VASOTEC® consideration should be given to the risk of angioedema (see 7 WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS). Congestive Heart Failure VASOTEC® is indicated in the treatment of symptomatic congestive heart failure usually in combination with diuretics and/or digitalis. In these patients, VASOTEC® improves symptoms, increases survival, and decreases the frequency of hospitali zation (see 14 CLINICAL TRIALS for details and limitations of survival trials). Treatment with VASOTEC® should be initiated under close medical supervision. Note: Requests for cancer drugs are considered under the Case-by-Case Review Program (CBCRP) which is administered by Ontario Health (Cancer Care Ontario) on behalf of the Ministry of Health. The CBCRP considers funding requests for drugs (both oral therapies and injectable drugs) for the treatment of cancer in patients who have a rare clinical circumstance that is immediately life-threatening (death is likely within a matter of months) and who require treatment with an unfunded drug, because there is no other satisfactory and funded treatment.
