What the Health Canada label says it is for
1. Indications ELOCOM® (mometasone furoate) Cream, Ointment and Lotion 0.1%: • are indicated for the relief of the inflammatory and pruritic manifestations of corticosteroid- responsive dermatoses such as psoriasis and atopic dermatitis. The lotion formulation may be applied to scalp lesions. • can be used for a maximum of 3 weeks duration on the body and of 5 days duration on the face, scalp, axillae and scrotum. 1.1. Pediatrics Pediatrics (<18 years of age): Safety and efficacy of ELOCOM have not been established in pediatric patients (see 7. Warnings and Precautions, 7.1. Special Populations, 7.1.3. Pediatrics). 1.2. Geriatrics Geriatrics (≥ 65 years of age): No overall differences in safety and effectiveness were observed between subjects greater than 65 years of age and younger subjects receiving ELOCOM Cream or Ointment. Clinical trials of ELOCOM Lotion did not include sufficient numbers of subjects aged 65 years and older to determine whether they respond differently from younger subjects. Geriatric patients may be more susceptible to the potential effects of systemic absorption.
