What the Health Canada label says it is for

INDICATIONS AND CLINICAL USE TEVA-NARATRIPTAN (naratriptan hydrochloride) Tablets are indicated for the acute treatment of migraine attacks with or without aura in adults. TEVA-NARATRIPTAN Tablets are not intended for the prophylactic therapy of migraine or for use in the management of hemiplegic, basilar or ophthalmoplegic migraine (see CONTRAINDICATIONS). Safety and efficacy have not been established for cluster headache which is present in an older, predominantly male population. Geriatrics (> 65 years of age): The safety and efficacy of naratriptan hydrochloride have not been adequately studied in individuals over 65 years of age. Naratriptan hydrochloride is known to be substantially excreted by the kidney, and the risk of adverse reactions to this drug may be greater in elderly patients who have reduced renal function. In addition, elderly patients are more likely to have decreased hepatic function; they are at higher risk for Coronary Artery Disease (CAD), and blood pressure increases may be more pronounced in the elderly. Clinical studies of naratriptan hydrochloride did not include patients over 65 years of age.
