INDICATIONS AND CLINICAL USE Adults MAXALT® (rizatriptan benzoate) is indicated for:  acute treatment of migraine attacks with or without aura in adults MAXALT® is not intended for the prophylactic therapy of migraine or for use in the management of hemiplegic, ophthalmoplegic or basilar migraine (see CONTRAINDICATIONS). Safety and effectiveness of MAXALT® have not been established for cluster headache, which is present in an older, predominantly male population. Pediatrics (<18 years of age) The safety and efficacy of MAXALT® have not been established in patients under 18 years of age and its use in this age group is not recommended (see WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS, Special Populations and Conditions).
