What the Health Canada label says it is for
1 INDICATIONS DIOVAN-HCT® (valsartan and hydrochlorothiazide tablets) is indicated for: • the treatment of mild to moderate essential hypertension in patients for whom combination therapy is appropriate. DIOVAN-HCT is not indicated for initial therapy (see 4 DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION). Patients should be titrated on individual drugs. If the fixed combination represents the dose and dosing frequency determined by this titration, the use of DIOVAN-HCT may be more convenient in the management of patients.
