What the Health Canada label says it is for
INDICATIONS AND CLINICAL USE PIMOZIDE is indicated in the management of the manifestations of chronic schizophrenia in which the main manifestations do not include excitement, agitation or hyperactivity. Pimozide has relatively little sedative action and can be used as a once-daily medication. Pimozide is not indicated in the management of patients with mania or acute schizophrenia. Geriatrics (≥65 years of age): Pimozide is not indicated in elderly patients with dementia. The safety and efficacy of pimozide in patients 65 years of age or older have not been studied (see WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS, Serious Warnings and Precautions Box, and Special Populations).
