What the Health Canada label says it is for
1 INDICATIONS TWYNSTA (telmisartan/amlodipine besylate) is indicated for: • treatment of mild to moderate essential hypertension for whom combination therapy with telmisartan and amlodipine is appropriate. TWYNSTA is not indicated for initial therapy (see 4 DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION). 1.1 Pediatrics • Pediatrics (<18 years of age): Based on the data submitted and reviewed by Health Canada, the safety and efficacy of TWYNSTA in pediatric patients has not been established; therefore, Health Canada has not authorized an indication for pediatric use. 1.2 Geriatrics • Geriatrics (> 65 years of age): No dose adjustment is necessary for geriatric patients.
