1 INDICATIONS DILANTIN INFATABS (phenytoin chewable tablets), DILANTIN-30 SUSPENSION and DILANTIN- 125 SUSPENSION (phenytoin oral suspensions) are indicated for: • the control of generalized tonic-clonic (grand mal) and complex partial (psychomotor, temporal lobe) seizures. Phenytoin is not effective for absence (petit mal) seizures, and not indicated for seizures due to hypoglycemic or other metabolic causes. 1.1 Pediatrics Pediatrics (< 18 years of age): See 4.2 Recommended Dose and Dosage Adjustments, Pediatrics. 1.2 Geriatrics Evidence from clinical studies and experience suggests that use in the geriatric population is associated with differences in safety or effectiveness.
