1 INDICATIONS VIMPAT (lacosamide) is indicated as:  Monotherapy in the management of partial-onset seizures in adult (>18 years of age) patients with epilepsy. All patients who participated in the monotherapy trial were newly or recently diagnosed with epilepsy (see 14 CLINICAL TRIALS).  Adjunctive therapy in the management of partial-onset seizures in adult patients with epilepsy who are not satisfactorily controlled with conventional therapy. 1.1 Pediatrics Pediatrics (<18 years of age): Based on the data submitted and reviewed by Health Canada, the safety and efficacy of VIMPAT in pediatric patients has not been established; therefore, Health Canada has not authorized an indication for pediatric use (see 7.1.3 Pediatrics). 1.2 Geriatrics Geriatrics (>65 years of age): The clinical experience with VIMPAT in elderly patients with epilepsy is limited.
